What if we meet the matrix Standard?

Congratulations. For all organisations that meet the stringent requirements of the matrix Standard, this is certainly an achievement worth celebrating! For initially accredited organisations a free certificate and a plaque will be provided to recognise this, and for all organisations whose accreditation has been successfully reviewed a certificate will be provided. You will also appear in the Holders search section of this website.

By achieving the matrix Standard, you will have shown a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement. You will then be sent a continuous improvement report where input will be made by you and your Assessor this will then form the basis of your Continuous Improvement Checks 12 and 24 months into your accreditation.

What if we don’t meet the matrix Standard the first time?

Your Assessor may identify that there are areas that you need to further develop and improve in order to meet the requirements of the matrix Standard. If so they will discuss those areas with you, along with how long you may need to demonstrate that you can meet all requirements of the Standard.

You will then need to complete a simple action plan on how you are going to address these areas and send this to your Assessor within 6 weeks of your assessment. Your Assessor will review your action plan and once they are happy with it, they will forward a copy to emqc Ltd.

If you are able to address these areas within 3 months of your assessment then it is reasonable to expect your Assessor to mainly focus on these areas when they return to you. However if you need up to 6 months your Assessor may need to re-explore other areas of the Standard to ensure that there is sufficient evidence to confirm that your organisation meets all elements of the Standard. If you need more than 6 months, you will need to book a full assessment.

The length and cost of your revisit will be at your Assessor's discretion, and would depend on the number of areas not meeting the Standard which the Assessor would be required to re-assess. The minimum length would be 0.5 days on site and 0.5 days report writing, equalling 1 day in total at the standard rate of £600 per day, plus VAT, plus Assessor's expenses. However if the Assessor felt it necessary to be on site for longer to ensure the revisit covers all necessary areas then the total length and cost of the revisit could be higher.

All follow-up activity is subject to booking and emqc Ltd's standard terms and conditions.

What if we don’t meet the matrix Standard at our review?

Your Assessor may identify that there are areas you need to further develop and improve in order to continue to meet the requirements of the matrix Standard. They will discuss these areas with you and also how long you may need to demonstrate that you can meet all the requirements of the Standard. You will also need to make a firm commitment from the highest level in your organisation to return to the Standard.

You will then need to complete a simple action plan on how you are going to address these areas and send this to your Assessor within 6 weeks of your assessment. Your Assessor will review your action plan, and, once they are happy with it, they will forward a copy to emqc Ltd.

If you are able to address these areas within 3 months of your assessment, then it is reasonable to expect your assessor to mainly focus on these areas when they return to you. During this period your accreditation will remain.

However if you need up to 6 months to address these areas your Assessor will need to undertake an interim visit after 3 months to review how you are progressing, and at 6 months your Assessor may need to explore other areas of the Standard with you to ensure that there is sufficient evidence to confirm that your organisation continues to meet all requirements of the Standard. In order to support your development during this period your accreditation will remain.

If you need more than 6 months to address these areas and your Assessor has doubts about your commitment to the Standard, then accreditation will be removed and you will need to book a full assessment.
